    Community Unity Project

    September 14, 2019

    Who are you Northumberland?
Come tell us who you are and help us build a Unity Project – a life-size portrait of who lives in our county.

Spin a yarn, tell a story – in the end, we will see that we are all connected by something, and it's our diversity that builds a strong and vibrant community.

Join us at the Frink in Cobourg – next to the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 14th from 8AM to 3PM.

Bring your friends and your family. This is an event for all ages and abilities.

The Unity Project is an interactive public art project created to raise awareness about the labels we give ourselves and others, and to explore how those labels both support and limit building interconnected, compassionate communities.

We will be building a larger-than-life structure to celebrate our uniqueness and strengthen our connections to each other – and we need your help! Through the use of yarn, we will build web of interconnectedness that illustrates that we are all connected by something – to someone.

This event is hosted by the Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland (HKLN) Drug Strategy and collaborating partners, including: Green Wood Coalition, Transition House, Nogojiwanong Friendship Centre, PARN, and the HKPR District Health Unit.
